Kaiko’s responsible Soft Love cashmere collection charms with its timelessly elegant design and creates fair employment opportunities for women in Nepal
Kaiko’s beloved cashmere collection expands as the SS21 season brings vibrant spring colours to its soft and dreamy new pieces. The warm and luxurious collection is manufactured in Nepal according to the principles of Fair Trade. In other words, Kaiko’s promise to offer Fashion with a mission comes to life in the form of fair jobs for women in Nepal.
Our Soft Love collection comprises four products, designed to make your day extra soft and warm – every day. The large scarf makes you feel you warm and cosy on even the coldest of days, the headband helps keep your ears warm and prevents you from having a bad-hair day, and our turtleneck with its stylish details lends an elegant touch to any look. Our latest addition to the collection is the short Cashmere Cardigan that looks fantastic when you combine it with high-waist bottoms, or you can use it to add layers that break long vertical lines. The colours in the collection are a careful mix of delicate earth tones and stronger colours, such as ochre yellow and vibrant purple.
Kaiko’s cashmere products are manufactured responsibly by a family-owned company in Kathmandu that employs 20 people. All the pieces in our cashmere collection are knitted to shape, which means the production is free of any material waste. The couple at the helm of the company, Saroj and Arundharti, are highly committed to their employees’ welfare, and they constantly strive to develop and improve their operations further. Working days at the company are eight hours long, and their employees work regular office hours. Free weekends and better-than-average wages for the country are also included in their terms of employment.
